ADHD Module 2 review

ADHD MODULE 2 OVERVIEW AND THOUGHTS

I have just completed Module 2 in the ADHD course and this is getting more interresting and informative as I progress through the modules. Dave Pughe-Parry, is once again guiding us through the module. This time he talks about understanding the Diagnosis process of ADHD.

As a parent I always thought I knew what was best for my child, but understanding that I am NOT an expert in ADHD and I have to leave a diagnosis up to the experts, was enlightening for me. Never assume anything. Experts have been encouraged to FIRST eliminate ADHD before carrying on to other possible conditions.

Module 2 covers information regarding what types of ADHD there are and their respective symptoms or impairments. This is laying the ground work for understanding this condition at a deeper level, so that we can understand how to be effective in helping our children.

The module ends with a 5 question quiz which you are able to repeat if needed. I found it was a good idea to view the video at least twice, to fully grasp what Dave was describing.

What an eye opening experience I am having as I take this journey through learning about ADHD.

Keep the faith and God Bless.

Fantastic Course for ADHD parents!

06 March 2015

As a Dad with an ADHD child, my greatest challenge was a lack of Knowledge about my son's condition!! Yes I admit it, I do not know enough about ADHD to fully support my son, myself and my family.
I came across a fantastic resource which really helps in understanding the condition, how to deal with it and see it as a blessing.

Living ADDventure is a site dedicated to helping people just like me understand what we are dealing with. I have completed the first two modules and short quiz. Even though I have only just scratched the surface of understanding ADHD, it has given me a massive insight into what it is involved. The modules are laid out extremely well and presented in a basic way that every person can understand.

We owe it to our children to make the efforts to understand what they are experiencing and how to deal with their conditions. Together as a family you can overcome anything, but first you need the knowledge. Don't fool yourself into thinking it can just be managed by medication! You as a parent need to be informed as well!

Start this course! It will open your eyes.

I will blog my progress as I work through the modules. Share your thoughts and your questions. I am by no means an expert in this field, just a Dad, who wants to learn more about helping a Son with ADHD.
